This season, in addition to performing at both the Skagit
and Bellingham Martin Luther King Jr. celebrations, we have
been invited to sing the closing concert at the Skagit Festival
of Human Rights on March 30th at the historic Lincoln Theatre
in Mt. Vernon.
As always, we sing in honor of human diversity and the family
of human kind, and in that regard, fifty members of the chorus
along with friends and family will travel to Ecuador this
summer to spread our message of friendship through music.
The
90+ members of the Kulshan chorus, under the direction
of Roger Griffith, are once again looking forward to
singing from their eclectic repertoire, this time including
some wonderful songs with hot Latin rhythms.
We hope to see you on May 12th
Songs
from our collection of world music include Spirit of Carnival
from
Nicaragua, Solo Le Pido A Dios and Unicornio
Azul from Argentina, latin twists on Old Black Magic and
How High the Moon as well as songs from the West Indies,
the 50’s, and Africa. Bring the entire family and enjoy
lots of colorful and powerful musical fun knit together by
a fabulous band.
This season we will again have the pleasure
of working with
Steve Rice, keyboardist and Clipper Anderson, bass, both
of who played at our sold-out concert last December. As any
of you who were at that concert know, these two guys are
fabulous.
To this duo will be added Scott Ketron, percussionist and
drummer who has played for years in practically every kind
of gig one could imagine.
