Entering
its 20th year, the 85-voice Kulshan Chorus stages
a colorful mid-winter concert, Music of the
Celtic Tradition.
Local
musicians Paul Englesberg (flute, concertina & whistles),
Randy Mohr (hurdy-gurdy) and Geoff Morgan (guitar),
with Seattle musicians Paul
Elliott (violin) and Steve Rice (keyboards) join
the chorus for ballads, jigs, and reels. Among them: Rattlin’ Roarin
Willie, set to the words of Scottish poet Robert
Burns, English Wassailing songs including: The
Derby Ram, and – from
the Irish Tradition – Wren in the Furze, Colcannon and Golden
Apples of the Sun.
